Listed below are activities provided by partners of Active Eastbourne and Lewes. They include a range of ways to get you moving more and hitting the recommended 30 minutes a day of physical activity for adults and 60 minutes a day for children. The activities listed on the Active Eastbourne and Lewes website are delivered by our partner organisations. These providers are independent and not run by the partnership itself. To be featured on our website, providers must submit evidence of valid insurance and ensure their staff hold recognised qualifications.

MAN v FAT Football is for men with a BMI of 27.5 or over. Over 90% of our players lose weight and get fitter, and you can join them.

Core Stability Class
Our small group strength session is for 3 people to attend. The session follows a progressive plan that focuses on improving core stability. The class works on exercises using free weights and your bodyweight and is designed to focus on controlling the resistance with a slow tempo and making sure the body really engages the trunk and lower back to perform exercises with correct form and technique.

A Strength and balance exercise programme, to help improve strength confidence and reduce the risk of falls.
Tai Chi
Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese practice often described as “meditation in motion”. It involves a sequence of smooth, flowing movements performed slowly and with control, while focusing on breathing and body awareness.
What happens in a class
A typical Tai Chi class usually includes:
Gentle warm-up – loosening joints and relaxing the body
Step-by-step movement practice – learning slow, controlled sequences
Breathing and balance work – linking movement with deep, natural breathing
Cool down/relaxation – helping the body and mind return to a calm state
Body Balance
Body Balance is a low‑impact mind‑body class that combines yoga, Pilates and Tai Chi movements set to music.
Body Balance is a calming, full‑body workout designed to improve:
- Flexibility
- Strength (especially core)
- Balance and posture
- Mental wellbeing and relaxation
A typical session flows through:
- Gentle warm-up
- Yoga sequences
- Pilates-based core work
- Cool-down and relaxation/meditation
- Everything is done to music, making it smooth and easy to follow.
Walking Tennis
A walking tennis session, designed to build strength, balance and confidence. Aimed at those rehabilitating or with a long term health conditions such as Parkinson's or MS.
Seated / Low Impact Fitness
Low impact and seated exercise sessions are designed to help those not traditionally active, rehabilitating or with long term health conditions become more active. Exercises are coach led, adapted to individuals and easy to replicate at home. All welcome, friendly, supportive environment.

Led by a physiotherapist, this welcoming class is designed to help you improve your posture, balance, and everyday mobility. We start with gentle chair-based relaxation and flexibility exercises before progressing to standing balance activities.
This class is ideal if you are:
- Managing a long-term health condition.
- Looking to start exercising gently and safely.
- Wanting to build confidence in your everyday movement.

Wheels for All – Cycling
Wheels for All is a nationally recognised initiative, working alongside the charity Cycling Projects that embraces adults and children with disabilities and differing needs, to engage in a quality cycling activity. By using specially adapted cycles, the activities are both physically and mentally stimulating and above all fun for everyone involved.
JK Wellbeing Pilates
Pilates is a low-impact exercise system designed to strengthen muscles while improving postural alignment and flexibility. It emphasizes the mind-body connection and precise, controlled movements.
Strength and Balance Sessions
Small group (friends, couples, etc) sessions available in a private gym setting. Also individual sessions are available too for those preferring to exercise alone. With 27 years industry experience, the aim is to encourage progression in a relaxed and professional environment.
Resistance Aerobic Tai Chi Circuit Training

Stability in Older Age – Bowls
We give older people exercises to help their balance and help them play bowls better
Beginner Zumba
6 week Beginner Zumba course. Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness workout. This class will cover the basic steps and students will learn some simple, fun dance routines.
Zara Yoga Pilates
Local Yoga and Pilates classes locally run by qualified Yoga/Pilates teacher. Classes are held in Seaford, Newhaven, Piddinghoe and Saltdean.

Free weekly gentle one hour group walk aimed at building fitness and boosting mental health. Our walks are designed to be nice and easy so that anyone can come along and get some exercise in a manageable and enjoyable way. If you would like to get walking but need support to get started come and join us.

Nordic Walking
Nordic walking is a Full-body exercise that uses specially designed poles to engage the upper body while walking. Originally developed in Finland as a summer training method for cross-country skiers, it transforms a standard walk into a workout that uses roughly 90% of your body's muscles. It helps stability ,works your core muscles ,helps with balance , cardio and sociable
